Sybase Certification Interview Questions

A Sybase certifications interview questions are the questions asked to an individual who is appearing for an interview in order to get Sybase certification.  The questions in the interview should be designed in such a way to analyze his knowledge about Sybase. It needs to be evaluated that how good the candidate is at mobilizing and managing information using Sybase.

Sample Sybase certifications interview questions

  1. According to you what are the most important tasks of DBA?
  2. Suppose you split your application data into a variety of database. Do you find in disadvantage in splitting up your application data?
  3. When the performance of ASE server is bad, what actions would you take?
  4. What needs to be done when a segment is full?
  5. In case there is a stacktrace  in the server errorlog, what would you do to rectify that?
  6. If you had to choose between a 32 bit version of ASE and a 64 bit version, which one would you choose?   Do you think that there is any advantage in choosing that version?
  7. Suppose you find that the server is unable to start. You check and find that the reason is a corrupt master database. What would you do in such a situation?
  8. How would you manage permissions through user defined roles? How different is it from managing permissions through users and groups?
  9. What happens to triggers, defaults, constraints and rules in a table when you do BCP in from a file to a table?
  10. Do you think that timestamp columns are good candidates for primary keys?
